SOS College of Health Science University

Midwifery Programs

We offer midwifery programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, aimed at strengthening the maternal and newborn health workforce in line with national priorities and global reproductive health standards. Our programs prepare midwives to provide evidence-based, respectful, and holistic care to women, newborns, and families throughout the reproductive, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. Graduates are trained to be autonomous practitioners and collaborative members of the broader healthcare system.

Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BScM)

The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery is a four-year program, excluding the foundation year mandated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Education. It is structured around a competency-based curriculum that blends classroom learning, simulation-based skills training, and clinical rotations in both urban and rural maternity care settings. The program focuses on normal and complex childbirth care, maternal and neonatal health, reproductive health, and family planning. Graduates emerge with the critical thinking, communication, and clinical skills necessary to provide high-quality, woman-centered care across the reproductive health continuum.

Semester intake

The college admits new students once a year. Each academic year runs for 45 weeks, divided into two semesters of 20 weeks each, starting in August.
